Green Drinks - December 11 - Angel Arms Studio Snohomish

Join us Wednesday, December 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. Celebrating Sustainability with Futurewise and Pilchuck Audubon Society at Angel Arms Works in Snohomish www.AngelArmsWorks.org  at the home and art studio of Snohomish Mayor, Karen Guzak and her life-partner Warner Blake. Learn more about the contributions and upcoming work of Futurewise and Pilchuck Audubon Society for Snohomish County and enjoy a tour of the beautiful Angel Arms Works.

Karen and Warner purchased the former St. Michael’s catholic church in 1993 and have made many modifications designed with the community in mind.  Angel Arms Works has recently added solar to their already sustainable efforts! A 24 panel solar array with panels manufactured by Marysville’s Silicon Energy now resides on the south-facing rooftop of the building.

Kristin Kelly is Snohomish Country Program Director for Futurewise and Smart Growth Director for Pilchuck Audubon Society.   Futurewise is working throughout Washington State to create livable communities, protect our working farmlands, forests, and waterways, and ensure a better quality of life for present and future generations.

The Smart Growth Program has been an integral part of Pilchuck Audubon since the early 1990s, and works to train and empower local citizens to work for better growth management to stem the consequences of irresponsible development, and to ensure that sensitive areas and wildlife habitat maintain a high profile in growth management debates.
