Green Drinks December 16th at Angel Arms Works in Snohomish

Join us Wednesday, December 16th from 5 to 7 p.m. Celebrating Sustainability with Futurewise at Angel Arms Works 230 Ave B in Snohomish, AngleArmsWorks.org  at the home and art studio of Snohomish Mayor, Karen Guzak and her life-partner Warner Blake.

Karen and Warner purchased the former St. Michael’s catholic church in 1993 and have made many modifications designed with the community in mind.  Angel Arms Works added solar to their already sustainable efforts! A 24 panel solar array with panels manufactured by Marysville’s Silicon Energy now resides on the south-facing rooftop of the building.

Futurewise is working throughout Washington State to create livable communities, protect our working farmlands, forests, and waterways, and ensure a better quality of life for present and future generations.

This will be a farewell Green Drinks for Kristin Kelly as Snohomish/Skagit Program Director of Futurewise for the last 13 years, who will be closing the field office as of December 31, 2015.

July 15th - Green Drinks - Rain Gardens

Join us for a guided tour of the rain gardens starting at 5:30 pm.   Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions.
Tour will begin at 1015 Oakes Ave, Everett, Washington.

Rain gardens are shallow depressions that use soils and plants to manage runoff from impervious areas such as roofs.  A rain garden can hold several inches of stormwater and allow it to slowly seep into the ground.  They can be shaped and sized to fit a wide variety of yards and improve the appearance of your home.
